Here is a story regarding the Doherty appointed Chief that came out of retirement for his job and just received a $13,000 a year raise while his firefighters have not seen a contract or raise in 6 years. 93% voted and 91% voted no confidence in the chief from the ranks. That sucks. LOL

Chief Davis should be ashamed of himself. Taking a raise while the other firefighters get nothing. And saying PPL did a wonderful job. Come on. Sounds like another Doherty crony who has to go.

I disagreed with the news conference; this should have been a private matter. I see the news conference simply as a way to embarass the guy. It accomplished nothing more than creating more friction. However, their point is valid. If the SFD truly has that little confidence in their chief, then he needs to be replaced, plain and simple. Or, at the very least, reassigned, like what happened with Capt. Sobol in Band of Brothers.

It's common sense, really. Nothing else.

Sobol was a idiot and they were right on the money there. Here is the news conference.. It seems that in order to get anything done for the residents or our SPD and SFD you need to embarass the admin. into doing anything good. I think it was the right way to do it. Now its out there in the public eye, the same public that depend on the chief to know what he is doing so that he can protect us and his men. This is supposed to made public because it directly affects us all. Its not like this is a cabinet job in city hall, this is a serious position that requires a serious and knowledgable man. I agree with you but disagree with the public aspect. It was done right.

Man....it would have sat alright with me if we could have just agreed in principle just this once without it being nitpicked. Might have actually suprised a few. Can't change the spots on a leopard, though, I suppose.

I'm not a Doherty fan, but I never quite realized what a smug, arrogant, elitist pr*ck he is until I saw his interview on the news on channel 16 last night. He really has the attitude that he's some sort of king and he doesn't give a rat's tail what anyone thinks. The sooner he's out of office, the better....
