Recently visited the area for business. Noticed many abandoned, foreclosure homes.
The towns mentioned Seem nice enough with wonderful people. What's up with housing market?
Pittston seems to be making a comeback. Yet, many horrible eyesore homes ?

Duryea was hit by the Tropical Storm Lee flood in Sept. 2011, and unfortunately, many homes still sit untouched after the flood. We were terribly flooded and did rebuild, but sadly there are still many "eyesore" homes on our street. Also, with the decline of the Anthracite coal industry in the 1950's, this area remains stuck in an economic decline. You are right about Pittston, though. I grew up there and the little city really is making a great comeback.
