Obviously they are monitored considering we now have service....or did you skip where I mentioned that??

The bottom of my driveway is a no-coverage area for both Verizon and Tacfone. Fortunately we live at the top of my driveway!

Glad you have service.

But the map still shows two "dead spots" in Eastburg and one in Stroudsburg for Verizon that are dated over a year ago, and I know there is and has always been coverage there.

Our situation is similar, in fact some days it works and some not (bottom of driveway). It always works in house at top...including from the basement. Even the phone may affect it in marginal situations.

This is why I stress to prospective buyers that service (wireless and/or cable) should be verified at the home or lot as much as possible BEFORE buying/renting if it is a show stopper.

According to Google Earth our house is 70 feet higher than the bottom of the driveway. That is all that it takes to make the difference between coverage or no coverage - depending on signal strength and location. Several of my neighbors, on the road that meets our driveway, have to have problems with service. You are offering good advice!

My area of Carbon County is totally dead with Verizon. I switched to AT&T and still needed a micro cell for the house.

and it could very well be that the maps aren't updated but the complaints do get noticed....also it may have been inaccurately reported by someone....
