What I do think will hurt all TV providers, both cable and satellite, is the product they provide. Movies and TV programs simply are not the quality that we once had. For me; I would be happy if I never saw another program. I also hate repeats or redundant material (sequels) and remakes. They really do not have a lot to offer if you eliminate those and you don't watch sports.
That's why I mostly watch MeTV or TVLand mostly for the programs I grew up watching during the 60's and 70's....few shows interest me today at all....other than those 2 I may watch Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, American Pickers, HGTV, DIY, other than that, like I said, few.....

I watch American Pickers but I prefer Chopped to the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I do like Forged in Steel and Gold Rush and sometimes Swamp People. But there is not a lot to choose from.

Turner Classic for me.

And the thing I like about Blue Ridge is the Stroudsburg-centric news coverage.

Saw Forged In Fire (Steel?) once at work and found it interesting how it's all done....for me the problem with those reality shows is the unnecessary drama between contestants....without it would be way more interesting I think....the Chopped competitions are prime examples of that....but I like Chopped as well....as for not having much to choose from that's why I like those that I mentioned plus TCM as well....nothing like the ol' Hollywood B&W's we grew up with.....
