Pace of life, nature's beauty, and friendly people. The air smells clean, you can see a beautiful sky at night, and it's peaceful. What else do you need? (please don't respond with remarks about a job, I'm excluding that factor)

Wink Great memories of NEPA

Hello. Well most of my memories involve outdoor stuff with the family in Bradford County-but everywhere else too. The area has really changed since I was a kid in the Poconos, but the farther you go West it still much the same as the 60's and 70's (yes, I am old!)

I am actually thinking about moving to the area for a year or so to be closer to the kids in Central Pa.

If anyone wants to read any stories about being a kid and fishing/outdoors stuff (and some other harsher stuff!) I have it at

Joseph Manduke - Life and Outdoors

Its a good place to be , NEPA!

JOE

My Essay...What I Love About The Pocono's...by poconoproud

What do I love about the Pocono's? I love the vistas and mountain views, we have some of the most breath taking scenery in the state, from Wilkes-Barre, to Carbon County...from Lake Wallenpaupack to Delaware Water Gap..you just can't beat it.

I love the mix of city and country life...country living is not so far from the neccessities of city life. Live in very rural Bear Creek, and you are only 15-20 minutes to grocery shopping in Wilkes-Barre. Live the farm life out in Saylorsburg, and you are only a ten minute ride to Brodheadsville, only a short jaunt to Stroudsburg.

I love the wildlife. The Pocono's is a special place, as is the entire Northeast Pa. It is home to many different kinds of animals, some near extinction in other parts of the country.

I love the rich history of our region, from it's Indian origins, to Ben Franklin building forts here during the French and Indian War...and did you know that the Pocono's was created some 12000 years ago when an enormous glacier rested it's weary bones here?

I love the people, especially some that I've met here on this forum..some that I will miss....
