Best school districts within approx 30 mins of Stroudsburg area
Still doing relocating research. Was considering working in the stroudsburg area.
What does everyone consider the better school districts around stroudsburg? Would be willing to drive about a 1/2 hour to get to work, so the schools do not necessarily have to be the stroudsburg schools -- unless those are good too?
Does anyone have a link where I can find out which towns are included in each district?
Someone mentioned Pleasant Valley in another post. What towns go to that school?

Pleasant Valley Schools have a good rep. In fact some people tried to transport their kids to the school, from other Stroudsburg areas.........only to make headlines as it isn't allowed. There is a site to look at school statistics......try to get the answer from the search tab on top here.

It's not a good idea to commute down I-380 daily from Moscow to Stroudsburg though, given the fact that as you pass through Gouldsboro, Tobyhanna, and Mt. Pocono in the winter it's like being on a skating rink. Trust me, I've done it before with front-wheel drive. NOT FUN! It is nice to be convenient to both the Poconos and Scranton, but you're taking a huge risk commuting down I-380 in wintry weather. I'd probably go with Summering and recommend Pleasant Valley.

Thanks everyone for the info. So it seems Pleasant Valley is the one to shoot for. Are Stroudsburg or East Stroudsburg schools any good?

If you don't live within the Pleasant Valley School District, you will have to pay tuition for your child/children. You have to have a valid address within the district for your child to attend the school tuition-free.
You can go to Pocono Relocation Guide to find out more info about Monroe County. (At bottem of page are county links) Then when on the Monroe County page, you can find out more about the area, including the school districts. Good Luck w/ everything!

Albrightsville is within 20-30 minutes of Stroudsburg, there are lots of developments to checkout if you are looking to live in a development. You'd go to Jim Thorpe School district, which is considerly smaller then any of the monroe county schools. Taxes are cheaper as it is Carbon, not Monroe county. I have never personally went to Jim Thorpe but i have never heard anything bad about it.
