Here is a new article from Citizens Voice about Ruth's Chris and Mohegan Sun

PLAINS TWP. - Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs' $208 million expansion will be full of national restaurant and retail chains and local names, casino officials announced Monday.

"It will make this a more complete destination," said Bobby Soper, casino president and CEO. "It will give us the opportunity to expand our customer base."

A Ruth's Chris steakhouse owned by The Metz Group of Dallas will anchor the restaurant offerings. Joining the steakhouse will be Rustic Kitchen Bistro and Bar and its Italian Mediterranean cuisine, neighborhood style restaurant and pub Bar Louie, fresh sushi from Pearl and Timbers Buffet.

On the retail side of the 300,000-square-foot "Project Sunrise," two staples of the resort casino world will offer men's and women's clothing - Miura and Marshall Rousso.
Crossing Vineyards and Winery of Bucks County will offer an array of its wines to be complemented by food and gift baskets from West Pittston's igourmet.

It sounds as if our once dreary and drab slots parlor will be turning into quite the upscale destination. All for the better I say. The more revenues this casino generates next year, the more revenues that will be split amongst county municipalities for various community development and revitalization initiatives. Perhaps this year's $11.5 million will soar to $20 million next year due to the increased traffic that these additional venues will bring?

Thanks for the link! Hey, you're an Avocan, right? Have you tried out that new Bobby-O's place yet in Dupont? Any word on when Bella Vino in Laflin, across from the Oblates, will be opening? It will be an Italian steakhouse and upscale wine bar; it sounds like it will be a great place to bring my partner for our anniversary!

Yes I was at Booby-o's last Wednesday, Very, very large menu!!! Seems like they serve everything but pizza, Prices were reasonable. I had a cheese steak, it was very good. They even have a free 'pickle bar' to pick off of while you wait for your order, You can even get piggies!

The Bella Vino Billboard on I-81 says Spring 2008

Thanks for the prompt response! My father brought home a menu from Bobby-O's the other day on his way home from work, and I was very impressed with how reasonable the prices were and how extensive the menu was. Pickle bar, eh? I LOVE PICKLES!!! I'll have to scope this place out soon!

I wouldn't trust billboards. Need I remind you that the Pittston Crossings billboard still says "Coming Spring 2007?" LOL!

Speaking of -chain steak restaurants- Ruth's Chris Steak House is just okay !! My
favorite is 'Smith and Wollensky Steak House' absolutely the best !! and a close
second is 'Morton's Steak House' too bad we're not getting one of them !!

I do not know how well they would do here as they are pricey, a full course meal for two would most likely be $150 or over. The steaks really are "that" good though.
If you think Ruth's Chris is good Then you must try:
Smith and Wollensky Steak House or Morton's Steak House -- now we're
talking about ---GREAT !!!!

I haven't been to Smith and Wollensky, but I hear it's fabulous. I HAVE been to Mortons, and I thought the steaks were good ( I still like Ruth's Chris better), but I was turned off by the live lobster they bring to the table. It seriously freaked me out. I felt so bad for the poor thing, sitting there on the tray looking at me. I asked the waiter to please take it away, and he said "Oh, Lucky here?" I asked why his name was Lucky, and was told that if no one ate him by the end of the night, he'll be spared til the next day when he's made into lobster bisque! They don't walk the cow by the table, and that's just fine by me, so why the lobster? lol
