Default How about Effort or any other towns near brodheadsville?

From my other posts, people seem to recommend the pleasant valley school district as a good school and brodheadsville as a nice area. It seems brodheadsville itself is a little pricey -- I noticed Effort nearby.

Any thoughts ?

Good area??

What about other towns in that school district??

thanks again!

Effort, Kunkletown, Saylorsburg, kresgeville, Gilbert, Jonas those are all towns in the PV school district. I grew up in the heart of brodheadsville about 1 mile from PV High School so i'm very familar with the area. Brodheadsville is pricy, All the other above towns i listed are on average cheaper then brodheadsville. The area is still an overall good area however the crime in brodheadsville has risen drastically in the last couple years, but the crime isn't bad compared to alot of places (i just seen the rise because i had lived there for 18 years and seen it evolve)

I live in Saylorsburg/Kunkletown area. The taxes are about the lowest in the county here in Ross Township. I prefer it over Effort, having lived there for many years, too.
When I lived in Effort, I would drive over to this area to a friend's house, and wish I could live off that road, too. (Weir Lake Rd) I loved the views of farms and mountains along the way. Now I get to live here, and I couldn't be happier!

Is there any other reason, beside the nicer scenery, that you prefer that area over Effort?

While i can't speak for poconoproud, i can say that if you are looking for a really countryish feel you'd be better with Kunkletown over effort. It is quite beatiful back weir lake road, my grand mother lives back there. Lots of farms, nice views, low population. Effort is nice too, but that has more of a 'development' type of feel rather then being out in the county.

I was just reading in another thread that Effort is much higher up in elavation, so the snow is worse there -- I imagine that makes a difference as well.

I like that the weather isn't as bad, because we are lower in the valley, and my kids went to Eldred Elementary school (still Pleasant Valley) which I love the time and care the teachers and staff take with the children, and that parents were always welcome to help in the classroom. In Effort, I was living directly next to RT 115, also. It was a scary thought raising the kids right there.

I personally would stay off of Effort Mountain the weather up there is soooo different from down below. I lived up there for 5 years and am sooo happy I moved.
