Luzerne County is second lowest cost of living in the state. Low housing costs are the biggest factor. As much as people complain about taxes, they are lower there compared to other areas in the state.

But one has a good paying job, then they can do well. Teachers get paid more here than they do in Southern states. Doctors and other professionals also get paid very well. Or if someone is entrepreneurial enough to create their own success and start a successful business. There are people who are doing very well here.
