'Likely tornado' ravages Mundy Street stores - News - Citizens' Voice

Quote:
A powerful storm caused absolute devastation Wednesday night in Wilkes-Barre Twp., decimating the Wilkes-Barre Commons shopping mall and the Wilkes-Barre Arena Hub Shopping Plaza.

Panera Bread, JD Sneaker King, Tovon and Co., U-Haul, Ken Pollock Nissan, Kurlancheek Home Furnishings, Ashley Furniture, Smokey Bones, Dick's Sporting Goods, PetSmart and many other businesses located along Mundy Street were affected by the storm. The restaurants and stores were completely gutted, with water spewing from pipes in the ceilings. A sign from the Uhaul Company was found inside the store where GameStop once stood.
I wonder how long these stores will be closed. Its a miracle no one was seriously injured or killed.

If it's only windows, signage and facades that got damaged then they'll be open relatively quickly. Panera, Dick's, B&N are all big chains that don't want to lose revenue or market share. Beyond that, if there's structural damage then it could take longer.
