If there's another thread addressing these issues that I missed, please direct me there. Thanks for your help![/quote]
I've found a good way to see if things were addressed already is to use the "search" button on the forum. I looked up "Dallas" and found a whole bunch of posts about it which really helped me when we were making our decision to move to the area. Good luck!

Summering!! Welcome back! Sorry to see that your daughter was not feeling too well, but, hopefully, the surgery will be a quick and easy one. That 'roto rooter' gall bladder surgery is supposed to be much easier than the old, full incision deal.
Wasn't the weather great yesterday?!? Well, the temperature was nice. I hope the rain lets up for awhile. My car's windshield wipers seem to be possessed, and I need a priest to exorcise them. Maybe I could just use a wrench if I knew what to do with it.
The robins have been back for a couple of weeks. The raccoons are runnin' around, but I've not seen a bear yet.
Hope you are well!

Rockky...........hi there.........
Yes, I think the surgery now is so much easier then the horrors of years ago. Not sure when she will go in as yet.
Hey, you must DM me about your wonderful trip.......it sounded great
I'm going to stare out my back window and look for some robins, so far just the cardinal was around........and he's here all year.
The weather was so nice yesterday..........but..........I saw those flurries up in Scranton flying by Joe the weatherman, today. ( I miss our weatherman when in SC, he is such the funny guy)
Now to get unpacking and be ready for the Saturday extravaganza.......seeing it might rain. Bahhhhhhhh

My husband and I currently live in Sayreville, NJ with our 16-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter. My husband works at Teterboro Airport in Northern NJ. As first-time homebuyers, we are finding the housing market in NJ too pricey and are considering NEPA instead. (Our budget is $225,000). We've been looking at houses in Monroe County (Brodheadsville, Effort, etc.) but my husband also wants to look into Northampton County. He wants the shortest commute possible; I work from home so it's not an issue for me. Our new realtor is trying to sell us on Easton, but I have serious reservations. I would love feedback from people regarding the suburbs around Easton, especially gang activity and the schools. Is there more than one school and are some better than others. Sayrveville schools are very safe and highly rated and I am not willing to compromise my children's education or safety. Are there other towns near Easton that would be better? If there's another thread addressing these issues that I missed, please direct me there. Thanks for your help!

You'll get a ton of information if you click on the lehigh part of the Pa threads. That area you will find is more expensive then say the Brodheadsville area. I know quite a few NJ workers who have migrated to the Forks, Pa region. They love their homes, the store access, the easy commute over the border to their jobs..... the grade schools are fine.
There is however, an issue with Easton High.
I wouldn't mention it if I didn't know personally about the school.
Forks needs their own high school, and they are at their taxed limit really.
If you are moving this way, I'd look into the Pleasant Valley Schools around Brodheadsville. There are some nice towns around that use this school.....
Or I understand Nazareth schools are good........go to the search bar on top and ask all the questions you want answered. Lots of information on here.

Hi ya, SWB! I'm here. I just don't have much to add with discussions on NEPA threads right now.
We were away for a few weeks. I got to sail around the BVIs in a 47 foot cat for a couple of weeks. I met a very handsome sea turtle and thought about staying there. Yes, a real, wild, hangin' around the boat, sea turtle.
The only tough times were not be able to set an anchor off Jost Van Dyke at Foxy's, a head that backed up, and not being able to adapt too well to the hatch being closed in our cabin. I needed fresh air!!!
Living on a boat off the islands is a wonderful experience, but it felt nice to be back home as well. I am done with this cold weather though. I need a few warm days together. I want to be outside!! Gots lotsa work to do out there.

Thats the life girl, thats the life............spending the winter on the CAT and entertaining the turtle. Oh I love turtles, I use to catch them and fill up the canoe........only to return them in the evening. ( Just what would I have done with the big guy......he'd of sunk the boat)
Now you have this marvelous, fresh air. Ah.......Ahhhh was it not 20 this morn. I am a bit kicking myself for not coming back two weeks later from SC.
Pa......warm up now. Someone tell Pa its April for pete sakes.
Yes, I want to garden, open the pool ..........and swim!!!
Rockky, so nice your home.........bet you have the fireplace going. I'm about ready to start up mine.

SWB.........I should add that your name comes up a lot on our trip south. Especially if there is a Mini Cooper around, or a Victorian home.....just suited for you.
Actually........Myrtle Beach made a town out of the old Air Base. It is called the Market Common. YOU would just love it. It is probably how you'd like Scranton to be in your dreams.
It has beautiful brick townhomes, restaurants, wonderful stores.......condos above the stores. Across the way from it is a walking path with a lake and further out playgrounds and picnic areas.
They have placed a grocery store there, Barnes and Nobles, all kinds and types of eating establishments. One can walk from their home to any of the store locations.
I think you'd just about love this type of environment. Just from listening to your explainations of how Scranton should be.
I did put some pictures at the SC threads.........but, opening day is actually today April 3rd so I didn't get the finishing touches.
I also missed the brick townhomes but someone who bought one did put pictures on......really cute and unique inside.
Anyhow..........how often I mention your name when I see something I think you'd love.
Hubby surely knows "Scranton, Wilkes Barre" (YOU) and all your tastes by now. LOL....
