hi my husband and i are looking for information about the old roosevelt high school on salem ave, can any one tell us why it has been closed down... and who owns the school

I know the Roosevelt High School on Salem Avenue in good old Carbondale. I do not know why it has closed down but guess due to shortage of kids. If you will care to write to me on bjain@rocketmail.com about your interest in the school, I will be able to tell you who owns it now.

Roosevelt Junior High and Benjamin Franklin High were closed when they did consolidation of the school district, I think in the early 80’s. They are now known as Carbondale Area High School. I attended both Roosevelt for 7&8 grades then BFHS. I also went to John Marshall grade school on Belmont St. (it is now a convenient store). I think that the Ben Franklin is now apartments and Roosevelt just sits there, such a shame!
