That sounds like my ideal setting as well. I'm thinking perhaps Nay Aug Park because there's a lot for kids to see and do there, like the animals at the wildlife center, the waterfall, the swimming pool, the museum, etc.

Since I'm not a native up here, I went lookin' for state parks on line.
What do you guys know about Hickory Run? It wouldn't be terribly far down 476. There must be a pavilion there. The site I read said it can be reserved for a fee (don't know how much), or it's a whomever gets there first sort of deal. I'm sure some of you younger guys would be happy to sleep on a table for the night. <<snark!! >>
I should take a run down there and check it out. Sounds like there is a lot of stuff for entertainment and things for kids.
There are lots of places in York, Adams, Franklin County area. Caledonia State Park would be perfect. Playground, pool, creek, trails, etc. That's the sort of things I had in mind. Maybe I'm just homesick. LOL!

True. I've been hedging 50/50 between them. I gave the edge to Nay Aug because it was closer to I-81 and thought there was more there to keep kids "entertained," but on second thought McDade does have the coal mine tour, which I thought was really neat when I was a kid.

Hey, poconoproud!!!! It's nice to know who's in the same area...more or less.
I'm not at Lake Harmony, but I'm not too far away from it. I'm in the Pocono Lake area.

Maybe if it gets to be too many people have 2 or 3 sub-get togethers by location and then a bigger get together so some people have already had the chance to meet.

Hickory Run would be a quite rustic setting. Nice for hikes to waterfalls or boulder field. Spent 2 nights there this summer and had 4! bears walk thru our campsite.
