Moving To Tobyhanna From Miami Florida

No. The pocono's might as well be little NY. Crime is running rampant. Just chenk into the pocono record online. Or Not valid (broken link)

Tobyhanna has a large development called Pocono Country Place, which has had some crime issues. Jobs aren't paying too well. A lot of people living there take a long commute to jobs closer to NYC

No to Tobyhanna
Tobyhanna is not a good school district to be in for your kids. I have lived here all of my life and would never send my to kids to school up there. I specifically chose Stroudsburg school district b/c it is still the best one of the cluster. Stroudsburg is only about ten minutes from Tobyhanna. Mostly people from NYC go to tobyhanna b/c of the cheaper houses but don't know about the school districts....just a little heads up

I'm also living in FL, Dunedin and am planning on moving to Tobyhanna next year. Or thought I was. going to. Lived in Pa 15 years ago and enjoyed it. Moved to Fl after a divorce. Pocono Country Place is where I'm looking for the cost of housing. However, the school system is terrible I found out and I still have a 10 year-old. Stroudsburg is nice but unaffordable for me. I'm going to start looking in upstate NY instead.

I am moving outta Florida and to Pa too!
Hi, I am originally from NY and then we moved to Jersey and then to Florida.
Our home is for sale and we are moving to Wayne or Pike County as soon as our home is sold. I am tired of hurricanes and all the heat. We miss our families up there too.

Wayne County is beautiful and alot of nice people too.
I can't wait to get there! It's not crowded and congested like Stroudsburg.
We were there last week and took a ride down from Wayne County to Stroudsburg and that area was like a zoo.

We are from ny also. we lived on pa for 13 years near stroudsburg. we moved up to maine 2 years ago. And the place i miss the most is pa. But Monroe county changed so much I don't know where to begin looking

It depends on where you look in the Pocono's about crime etc.
If you are in Monroe County you will have much congestion but a easy commute to NYC for work. The northern part of the Poconos about Rt. 84 is nice.
