So, Monroe county residents
How is it to be in Yellow Phase?
When is the Green one expected?

Im coming June 14 and i hope it will happen soon.

Also, is there some counties in green phase close to Monroe? so you can drive to the restaurant etc.

Since we went to Yellow May 29th, maybe another two weeks? Carbon and Wayne Counties are in Green Phase already.

I do like that retail is reopening, and restaurants opening with outdoor seating, including some that never had outdoor seating before. Like "Eggs in Pan" which has now put tables outside. Might surprise my husband for Father's Day Brunch there. Really good Sausage and Kielbasa along with eggs and home fries. We first started going there as Newlyweds still living in NYC over 40 years ago.

Carbon goes green this Friday. Presently, we're still yellow.

It does not make a lot of sense to me. I have looked at these maps on the Morning Call website (https://www.mcall.com/coronavirus/mc...htmlstory.html) and especially the "14-Day coronavirus incidence by region". Carbon County has more cases in the 14 day period than Monroe. Wayne has slightly fewer than Monroe. Wyoming County I can understand because they only had 3.7 cases in the last 14 days and to the west of them is all green. But Carbon going green looks like an anomaly and does not make sense according to that map.

I do take note that they did not update that map today. So I will be looking for the new figures tomorrow.

Despit the uptick recently, Carbon has 1/4 the amount of cases Monroe has. Many cases are in Albrightsville where there are many folks from NY & NJ with second homes. My personal thoughts about the uptick is due to the Memorial Day holiday. Tons of out of state plates all weekend.

Based on the dashboard the Department of Health uses, Monroe should get the go ahead to green soon. The county has met all 4 metrics and if they continue to do so it won’t be long. Monroe was about 2 weeks behind Carbon in going yellow I think going green will be similar. Carbon had one new case reported on 6/7 while Monroe had 3. Population wise Monroe is far more dense.

I love anomalies like Susquehanna County. They have only a little over 40,000 and a total of 148 cases that tested positive. But their infection rate is 129/100,000 for the last 14 days! They now have the highest infection rate in our northeastern group of counties. So I have to ask why the surge?

I read nearly all those new cases are in nursing homes. Sadly, Pennsylvania nursing homes are a breeding ground for COVID. One nursing home in Forest City has reported 70 of those cases.

Thank you again; I thought it was something like that. Unfortunately it is terrible to be trapped in a nursing home where the virus spreads like wildfire.
