I LOVE Grotto! Summering has done us all quite a bit of good deeds in the past with her various tours, along with mathjak, DeLorean, Greentown, and a few others. Per capita we probably have one of the most photographed areas on City-Data!

I'll give you a BIG clue........ If theres a Victorian home included, it would be his!!! But, actually I am kicking myself to not have taken the most beautiful homes around the lake..... ...I will just have to go back, and that gives me the excuse to.

Let’s bring the ‘Brass Ring’ back to the area | News
This article is about the Carousel going up for auction. It is a very, very interesting story. How it was going up for auction in Florida, before the owners knew how interested Harveys Lake was in getting it back.
I have not explored yet if they ever collected enough.....over ONE MILLION!
I am almost sure I saw an April date of the auction.
What a prize it would have been to have it back, and housed like they do the Binghamton Carousels, with great care.
PAGES
I checked the April 23rd Auction, it was not listed were I had looked as SOLD, as other amusement items and parks were listed as..........
I am wondering if they are still working towards the goal of having this piece of heritage back. I sure hope so........

Who is Harvey ????
I took some friends to Harveys Lake several summers ago for a ride, pizza and a brew. We went into all the local spots and asked who Harvey was,
no one could answer the question. At some point later I was their and went
into the bar across from the old beach area, I forget the name, I think its
Margaret & somebody ??? !!! Anyway, their was an old guy in there who
went home and got a very old book about the history of Harveys Lake. Seems Harvey was a hunter who broke his leg in the woods and finally found
his way to the lake in the spring... Fun to sit and talk to the old locals

Thank you, very interesting. I think that was the same book the old guy
had. Seems the broken leg story -- was just that...

This is another lake I need to bring my wife to as she loves them. We usually go for walks around Nescopeck but we haven't ventured out to Harvey's yet. I'm gonna put it on the list for this summer.
Thanks Summering
