Thats great JG but I dislike coconut.........I'm sad, and sorry, about it.
Now .......Get a drift of this.........and don't laugh too hard.
I just made a great Meat Pie. Kinda a thing my MIL taught me, and the guys seem to love it (?)
Meat and Potoatos.......all sliced up all together in the pie. Yummmmmy
Well, it was suppose to have my homemade "pumpkin pie" with it. I made the crust, for both items.
Then I babied that Pumpkin Pie to get it just right, another 10 minutes would do.....and then.......
I go to take it out************* and I DROP it. Oh yes, I did.....and the darn thing flipped over from my two mitts. Yep. Onto the counter, down the corner cabinet door, into the sides of the stove, in the stove.....glopped in the corner crevices, glopped in the edging of the wood, the stove, Oh crying time !.......The perfect pie. KAPUT!!! So I was aghast. Quite tearful and had a huge mess.......So now the Meat Pie is in. Not touchin' it, nope........not touchin' it. Hubby put it in the stove and he'll be takin' it out.
Mrs Butterfingers is done for the day..........thank you.
And now I will give the soap box back to Hat or Rockky.......cause' I am done.
Done cookin' and done thinkin' about it............gosh darn it!..........She was a beauty.

That pie was slathered down between the stove and counter. All down the corner cabniet the edges of the door there. Into the stove drawer, the floor............edges, and cracks in the stove area.............Darn it was looking so perfect. In an instant it became mush....
My little dog has to stick to his own food or else. So it was me, mush, and lots of " what in the Worlds".........Then hubby showed up. I didn't touch the meat pie. Actually I could see his face as I was getting near it..........and I said " its all yours, I'm not getting near the thing"........
I didn't do that before.......so I guess I can be happy it only happened once.
You all made me feel better that you had it happen........Not fun, Not a smiling situation at all

Default Apple Custard Pie

I just mad one of these yesterday from my aunt's recipe & it's gone already!!! I use the frozen ready-to-bake pie pastry...

Summering, if you make it, please let hubby put it in the oven & take it out!!!

1 pie shell frozen in pan
1 cup brown sugar
3 sweet apples cored, peeled & cut in slices (I used Macintosh)
1 egg
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

Mix cinnamon, nutmeg & sugar.

Arrange the apple slices in a spiral in the pie shell 'til full.

In a bowl combine the egg and milk & pour over the apples.

Sprinkle the cinnamon/sugar/spice mixture over the top of the pie (getting it into all the nooks & crannies).

Bake at 450 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 & bake for 30 minutes more or 'til custard is firm. (I use a knife to check when it comes out clean).

Enjoy!!

OH BOY.........YOU had me laughin' ......I know it, I just know it.
I made him take out the last thing from the oven just recently....
Gosh, darn, butterfingers
I worked from 12 to 5PM on the "free" photobook that you order through Oprah.......from Snapfish........and at 5, after edit, proper lighting, twisting, turning and aligning the photos...........That took a dive too. After full completion it wasn't there. Whaaaaaaa........I swear I did save!
Now, I just did the darn thing all over........Its been an eight hour project.
Plus, I liked it better the first time. Boooooo........( eyes in limbo now)
Now, back on target........this sounds like a great recipe.
I use Macintosh too for my deep dish apple pie.......love apples..yummm
I will make this, and I won't touch taking it out of the oven, nope!

Well, Lo' and Behold.........The first Snapfish Book was THERE this mornin' so.......I went back to that one ( rather then the second book) and ordered it. It sure looks at first that your paying full price and there is no discount. In fact I got an email from daughter #2 that she took ALL DAY yesterday too to make her book and she was stuck in the payment area.
Being brave I continued to the Review and at that section the $20.00 discount was showing!!!
So quick note to her and said "continue on" ..........Really in the code section they should have had you write Oprah........Oh but, I'm not a web designer.......so what do I know?
I can't even get a good lookin' pie out of the oven in one piece.
Taaaaa Daaaaaa The book is on its way to me. They are fun to do and turn out fantastic.
Last Note........The Scene is up in the hutch, just a few finishing touches.......Gosh darn wires...that was a tough one.....UPPS forgive me I thought I was in the Off Topic here.............and this is cooking......Geez.......Ok what is cookin' JG?

Addendum to recipe: I made 2 more of these pies yesterday (for the neighbors...NOT to get me fat!!) & I found that I get better results mixing the sugar/spice mixture into the egg/milk mixture & just pouring the whole thing over the sliced apples instead of doing it separately!!

Saves washing 1 more bowl too!!

(watch out Martha Stewart!!)
