I have next door neighbors who moved in about a year ago. All last summer they caused havoc by blasting loud music outside with bass booster, and shooting off fireworks any day or time they want to. I have talked to them several times and they act very nice, then turn up the volume. several neighbors and I have called the police multiple times and police came twice, then stopped coming.
Now that warm weather has returned, the rowdies have started it up again, playing music louder that ever in their yard. I can't get away from it no matter what I do and it's making me very nervous and miserable. I want to know if I should get a lawyer to handle it? Would a letter from a lawyer stating penalties be effective? If we go to court, does the loser pay all court and lawyer fees? Would it be a worth it to get a lawyer involved?
Thanks, PB

Hire a lawyer and sue the neighbor for creating a public nuisance.

Take it from someone that has been there. You can do the above suggestions but don't be surprised if law enforcement doesn't take you seriously. It just isn't priority. In my case, I took pictures, video, license plate numbers, etc. Same scumbag is doing the same crap from over 10 years ago. He has calmed down a lot but he's the same scumbag. Neighborhood nuisance.

Yeah, this one. It's a waste of time going through the system with things such as this, unless one counts renting a uhaul truck & moving 'the system'.. Then yeah, use the system, the interstate system.

Of all of the noise ordinances I've seen and read, they all have 1 thing in common.
Allowable time to commit it.
Why is it enforceable only during certain hours? (ie: 11pm to 7am)
Loud stereos seem to be barely noticeable to law makers.
If it's bad between 11-7, why not always?
Is it acceptable ever?
I don't think so.
Fine them heavily.
Disturbing the peace is not a right.
I don't care what time of the day it is.

That's because in THEIR neighborhoods they don't allow it and because they're buddy's with the local PD so it gets enforced....what happens outside of their neighborhood they could care less....
