I wouldn't dream of going to live in a place where hunting was popular and then tell everyone I hated it - that's just ridiculous. I certainly don't expect people to cater for me. I just wanted to find out if there would be animosity - evidently there is from some people (although the majority have been receptive in a positive way). I want to live in a place with fairly like mindedish people. Shame - Scranton looks lovely - from the photos I've seen and sounds a decent place to live. (Is there no hunting in Rhode Island then??)!!!

I think that you are going to find hunters in this country no matter where you go ... they come from all walks of life ... rich and poor ... my guy is a hunter ... and I am not ... we live in the same house ... and we get along great and have many other things in common ... people are different ... thank God for that ... we can sometimes agree to disagree on things ... and still get along fine. Wouldn't life be totally boring if we all agreed all of the time.
I hope that when you come here that you are welcomed with open arms ... and hey if you are a vegan ... more power to you ... nobody will pick on you for that ... I love veggies myself! But I do eat a lot of chicken and fish (catch mine in the supermarket though).
Remember in the end that we should always treat others as we ourselves would like to be treated ... can't go wrong with that philosophy ... once everyone learns that it's ok for others to disagree with you ... and be different from you ... and you can still get along ... this world will be a much better place.
