HVAC job questions
Was wondering how the job market is around Scranton. My husband is in the heating and air conditioning field and does ok, because he is experienced and has all his training and certificates. We live in NJ and I know that the pay scale would be less in Pa. Does anyone have any idea how much less? What the hourly rate could be for him. Looking online there really is not much job offerings that popped up in this area, and that is a little worrisome.

I moved here last month, and left a job at Trane to come here. I interviewed with Trane in Wilkes Barre when I moved out here (for a position I really wasn't qualified for), and the position they were hiring for paid surprisingly high for the area, $48K for an outside salesperson. I didn't get the job (boo hoo!), but that salary for that position out here tells me that they pay their people very well. Trane is the leader in commercial and residential air-conditioning systems. I would suggest your husband apply there, even if he doesn't see any ads that they're hiring currently. PS- They also have a location in Allentown.

If he is skilled? Probably between $18-$22 dollars an hour.
