I'm not going to debate the issue of Janet for mayor with you anymore CHS89. You have your opinions and I have mine. If she does happen to get elected for mayor in 2009 and the city is still a mess two years later, I will admit it was a bad mistake and you can tell me "I told you so". But until then, it's a moot point. So I will stop praising Janet Evans for mayor.

BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!! I'm not trying to take sides here, but random sarcastic remarks like these totally make my day! Thanks for the laugh!

I think it's funny too Paul. But that's all it seems that CHS89 brings to this forum, random sarcastic remarks, not any real facts to debate.

What's to debate? The thread started off nearly a month ago with "So..it's confirmed! The golden woman from Scranton City Council will be announcing her candidacy for the 2009 mayoral bid."
We've since established that a) nothing's confirmed and b) she STILL HASN'T ANNOUNCED anything in the weeks since. This thread is nothing more than a Janet Evans circle jerk. There's already a site devoted to that. |

I agree it's become a circle jerk. We should just end this post already and leave the women alone until she does announce something definate.

Does Scranton have an Illegal's issue? What are the costs?

Pretty much the entire nation is enduring an "issue" with illegal aliens...errr..."undocumented residents." Locally Hazleton is the only community that comes to mind where this has become a widespread problem as it has burdened the local emergency services, hospitals, schools, etc. with how those who don't pay taxes because they are "undocumented" are forcing a greater financial hardship onto those who do pay taxes. Scranton, per se, doesn't have any illegal immigration problems (yet), but the with rising Hispanic population in South Side I'm sure it might not be long until the Electric City becomes the same "barrio" that Hazleton has eroded into.
