Ok, I know where it is going to be, the same area it has been rumored to go for years.

Gosh, it's nice to read all these posts, I used to live in Kunkletown, years ago, bout 16 - 18 years ago, and miss is sooooo much. have not been back since I moved back home, but it was a beautiful area then. Loved it up there....then, used to go to Scott's store but when I first moved there, there was nothing in Brodheadsville, except Altimoses, and you could only get lunch meat, bread, milk and eggs there at the time. Had to drive to Stroudsburg to do some serious shopping every week.

Hope you are all well and happy where you live...it was a great area, and loved the West End Fair!!!!

There was already an "old" Shop-Rite in Brodheadsville, actually kind of nice and family-owned, and has a tower at the left for 2nd floor offices. Pretty busy place, but a bit cramped. My wife and I were there to help with some product resets about 6 months ago. The new one is huge, and was being built right across the street. After all this time, it should be getting close to completion, but we live in W-B, about 40 miles away, and haven't driven though that area since to check on it.

The old Kinsley's has awesome specials and is a nice store, but shopping there anymore is intolerable. People are SO nasty and bash into your cart, shove, push, it is just awful. The new one is almost done, I saw the grand opening date on a "flashing" billboard along Route 33 the other day but I can't remember what it said anymore The new building looks awesome though!

The population growth in that area is immense. I do feel like the minority, a minority because of my attitude. I try to be positive and courteous wherever I go and set a good example for my children. However, this does not seem to be the general mindset of the area now. The driving, the attitude, the pushiness, it is all too much. I've been in Brodheadsville a lot lately and it is like a free-for-all, the traffic, driving, pushing and rudeness in Shop-Rite, all too much. Too bad I need to visit Nibor's to get my delicious coffee fix and need to drive right through the mess to get it!

Went to mass at Queen of Peace across the street a month or so ago, and nearly got run down in the parking lot several times. In a church parking lot! Went to Weis afterward and had the same problem. I don't know what the problem is with people around there, but they certainly were pushy.

I was wondering how ShopRite was, because I saw the commercial for the newly remodeled store yesterday. Guess I won't be checking it out.

You are truly better off staying up Carbon County way (that is where my churches are - I play organ at churches up there). People tend to be much different the further up into Carbon County you go, thank goodness.

I'm sure the new Shop-Rite will have wider aisles and more amenities, but that will do nothing about the attitudes and pushiness unfortunately. You should shop in Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg/Tannersville if you really want a nail-biting experience...

I find it ironic that you nearly got run down at the Queen of PEACE!

I know right? I couldn't believe that they were acting that way at the church!
