Default May! graupel in NE PA...strange weather!

Ok.........everyone in Lackawanna........Did you love the graupel coming your way this morning? And..........thats not like a side dish with eggs

" graupel " "a kind of frozen precipitation consisting of brittle, white, ice particals having a snow like structure."

Gosh, I saw it with my own eyes, on your local station.
I was "joking" with my daughter who stayed over in Blakeslee that she could see snow. I was not serious. But.................

I wonder if this is the new record date for a snow like substance in this part of the country.

Anyone see this for real?.........or did you all sleep in this morn.

Hey Summering..not only do I read the smilies in your posts but I feel them! I did not get the graupel here in Wayne, but my mom called me freaking out about it...it may have been a record. Wild! The weather was kind of neat here today. We oscillated between bright sunshine and dark clouds every half hour or so...kind of mystical.

And ya know...what's more...it is actually a blue moon today (the Wesak moon also)...some would say it isn't a blue moon because they define a blue moon as two full moons in one month. But, a blue moon is really two full moons in the same sign, and today is the second consecutive Scorpio full moon. The graupel also proves that it is a blue moon!
The Wesak aspect accounts for the mystical feeling of the day. Some say Buddha and Jesus come together on this day for a party in the Himalayas! Imagine that party!

Love the Blue Moon..........My favorite song........!!!
Blue Moon by Steve Holy.........( not the old Blue Moon song......) He sings it fantastically. ( I found it on Utube also)
Jesus and Buddha having a party? Were we all invited?
I don't know a song about a Wesak Moon.........ah..........thats a real moon?

Summering I saw the graupel you speak of this morning at work while on my lunch break around 11:00. I couldn't believe it coming down in the latter part of May.

Thanks for the education, I was calling it small hail all morning yesterday! Saw it, felt it and drove in it. I knew it was strange but had no idea why. Thanks all!

Never knew we had graupel. It sounds like some sorta cereal. I didn't see it but I did see the clouds then sun, the clouds, rain, maybe a little graupel, it looked like white flakes. It wasn't on the grass though. It looked like flakes falling. I want warm weather now!
