This is fascinating though...I mean, to be a good parent, a loving parent, don't you need to tell your children when they are doing something wrong? Something that is hurting themselves or other people? Isn't that part of what it means to love? Not just constantly be positive and ignore when something horrifying is happening. The kids who get that kind of parenting...the attitude of...I will ignore it when you get drunk and hurt someone...I will ignore it when you treat your friends or partners cruelly...they grow up to be people that are generally a problem for society.
America needs to hear...loud and clear...when there is something happening, in her name, that is hurting people needlessly....wounding innocent people...abusing her own citizens for profit. RW is saying God Damn America for what she has done to blacks...to the the native americans...to gay people. And he is right, there is karma in all action. If you truly love America, you can not sit back and pretend that right now the middle east is not being raped in her name. Or that the collective pain bodies of african americans are not still vibrating with the torture that has been, and continues to be a part of their life. And is only perpetuated by America's public school system. It is a great country, but she needs us to stand up and shout when something is going on that is not right. Not just I love America. God Bless America. Why should God bless all these actions? That is what RW is saying. We need to look inside before we start looking outside. |

Mrs. Obama did an interview some months back in which she answered on the state of race relations that she has only recently started to "feel" like an American.

I'm not worried about my kids......they know right from wrong and are kindhearted and wholesome. There won't be any hate spilling from their mouths. They are not cruel and won't speak in cruel terms....thank goodness. Whats going on in the schools......well, from listening to a teacher.....some children need to learn to sit, not leave, not talk back, and try very hard to get an education. Its free, and its there........stop walking away. Wrongs........much that was said was wrong. Having had a dad fight in the Battle of the Bulge and a husband who was sent to Viet Nam........Our country is not always right, in the least..........but not to be damned. We live here.........so we should love her no matter what. I don't want to get into American history that was wrong, but think about the current times.... a good citizen, most likely will be treated as such. When hate came flying on wings of silver, into our buildings , we were attacked. We have to make sure this wouldn't happen again ........by foot, by plane, by any means. Many forget too soon.......that we were attacked. So far we feel safe...........but............standing at those hallowed grounds makes one aware, we certainly are not. |

The 1,000,000 Iraqis we killed and the 4000+ soldiers we sent to their deaths strike me as a lot worse than what happened on 9/11. There is nothing like countering the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil with the worst foreign policy mistake since Vietnam-- especially considering there was absolutely no connection between the attack and the war.
The negligence of the Bush Administration in planning the war, not listening to experts in the field who predicted exactly what would happen, and so on is criminal. This is negligence on an unimaginable scale. 1,000,000 dead Iraqis. If any of you can even rationalize that as not as bad as 3000 deaths on 9/11, than you are nothing more than annoyingly self-righteous Americans whose regard for human life stops at your borders. Never forget, indeed. |
