The negligence of the Bush Administration in planning the war, not listening to experts in the field who predicted exactly what would happen, and so on is criminal. This is negligence on an unimaginable scale. 1,000,000 dead Iraqis. If any of you can even rationalize that as not as bad as 3000 deaths on 9/11, than you are nothing more than annoyingly self-righteous Americans whose regard for human life stops at your borders.
Never forget, indeed.

I agree 100% with the first 2/3 of your post & take offense at the last 1/3.
Just because we say "never forget" does not mean that we are annoying OR self-righteous with no regard for human life besides fellow Americans & the words "never forget" do not mean to me "go over & slaughter innocent people"....it means to NEVER FORGET the men & women who lost their lives on 9/11.
I was against the war from the get-go & feel horrible for the atrocities done in Iraq & to our troops, but I will continue to honor the memory of those that died on 9/11.
An afterthought:
On the headstone of a soldier killed in Iraq..."I was given medals for killing a man and a discharge for loving one".
Oh & by the way Commish...the salsa turned out GREAT!!!

I didn't say that.
I said anyone who rationalizes the vastly greater Iraq War deaths as not as bad as the 9/11 deaths is all of those things. And I said "never forget" to remind people of a point that actually *is* forgotten. We may sometimes forget those who died on 9/11, but the 300 times more civilians who died in reaction to 9/11-- who died as the tragic result of the worst foreign policy mistake since Vietnam-- they aren't even on the radar.

If I miscontrued your post Commish I apologize!!
I'm a simple man, so when I read your words "If any of you can even rationalize that as not as bad as 3000 deaths on 9/11, than you are nothing more than annoyingly self-righteous Americans whose regard for human life stops at your borders" I took it to mean "the above posters"...
Maybe a better choice of words would've been "If anyone can even rationalize that as not as bad as 3000 deaths on 9/11, than they are nothing more than annoyingly self-righteous Americans whose regard for human life stops at their borders".
My bad.

Not true..........No one forgets the deaths of soldiers who have enlisted to fight for the freedoms of their country........as those men before them have done. If I could have ,after 9/11..........I would have walked right up to the enlistment office and signed up myself. Protecting family and country, thats what it has always been about.
Sitting back and letting more horror befall us was not going to be a good idea...........More buildings perhaps, a bridge, tunnel.....our homes....cells working on computers in your town..........
We lost wonderful, loved people.........and now we are loosing wonderful, and loved soldiers. Who are there for us, ......yes we know you are.
We're not forgettting anyone, anywhere, from anytime..........God Bless them All.

The original song was written by a man who's child had just died (I don't know if boy or girl...)in their memory & Annie heard it & requested to be able to sing it on her CD. Then her fan Nick heard her CD & asked if he could use her version as the tribute to his mom..."immortality" for the child's memory as well as the 9/11 victims...
