This is getting off-topic, but I really don't think we will ever have another plane hijacking now. Ever. So why waste billions of dollars on the illusion of security in our airports? Seriously, if some whack job terrorist(s) try to hijack another plane, they are going to get beat down so fast they won't know what hit them.

I'd put money on that. There are other places where we are far more vulnerable now than in the air travel industry. That being said, I do hope care is taken in other facets of society to ensure that our liberties and privacy rights are not violated in the name of "security".
Remember:
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Absolutely skijmpr...too many are not paying to attention to how our essential liberties have been eroded "in order to protect us"...Naomi Klein's The End of America is a great book on the topic. I feel much more threatened by those who would spend the financial and environmental inheritance of their children to feed their own greed and self-interest than I do by any angry middle easterners.

You can take every liberty I have personally away....
If it saves one plane full of people, or a single building from crashing down.
I love all those liberties, but I love my fellow man more! I'd give them up.........

Our liberties are what define us as humans of free will. By giving up our liberties we give up ability live free.......Give me liberty or give me death!
Too many people died defending our liberties to be willing to give them up.

I totally agree with you....a little inconvenience for safety and security.
You have to remember 911 changed everything,A terrible tragedy that
should have never happened.

To me...if the liberties go away then I don't have my country any more anyway, so what's the point? What is the point if there is no free state to live in? It would be like living somewhere that does not respect their citizens, where people are not free to do as they wish. That is why America is great. Don't forget that.
Our forefathers designed the constitution...a free way of life...what makes our country worth fighting for...in order to protect us against tyrants. They saw in their profound wisdom that one of the major singular problems of government is one person gaining too much power and controlling other people. So our constitution is designed to keep power in the hands of the people, because THAT is how you stay safe. You do not stay safe by giving up your power. Do not let one catatsrophic event be the impetus for some crazy group of dictatorially minded folks to convince some that it is worth giving up their power for.

Yes,everyone is entitled to their opinion....(I'm making dot's like summering)
and that's what makes this country great,I'm not saying give up freedom
But the rules have changed since the towers fell...there are no rules...
the terrorist don't care if they die....how do you deal with that...and for
thinking another tragedy will never happen again....you are only fooling yourself....I hope and pray to God something like this never happens again..
I feel very strongly about this because I did my part to help out when this
horrible event happened, unless you where there...you could never fully
understand....But like I said everyone is entitled to opinions beliefs etc...
