Default Photos Yalick Farms and Harveys Lake Today!

Ah, Pictures on the Fly............I must say hubby did not stop for one minute for me to take pictures.
He kept saying people were behind him........
So, this is some of the pictures I took and none are very aligned...LOL
I stopped by Yalick Farms and just had to go into the townhomes. What a fantastic job they are doing there. A family group who knows how to put their priorities in order. What townhome do you know that has the pool all done before the condos and homes are sold? It is usually last.......I remember with my daughter in Florida, it took the builder two years and it was not in for two hot summers. Yalicks Farms Pool is just about ready to roll. 5 lane competition size. The Clubhouse also has a ballroom for parties.
You know they were so impressive I took some pictures. I know Scranbarre posted the map plan previously on another thread.( to see these do a search from the top area)....but.......here is a few shots in "real life" taken today.
I must say I loved the garage doors, front doors, and windows. All the blinds come with the homes, and the upper ones work by remote! How nice. Your lucky to have such a gorgeous village being worked on in the Back Mountain......I can't wait to see the Shoppees open. This is really nice. Very upscale, and fantastically done!

What a wonderful group of people doing this construction.......I just had to post these as the charm and top quality just has to be seen.
Even Trex decking was used...I love the metal accents. Just a wonderful addition to that area.......No mud in your shoes either, they landscape as they go ( hey builders, listen up..........)

And off to Harveys Lake.........Well what can I say..........Hubby just would not slow down for any pictures. So.......Here they are on the fly.

The Lake Beach.......they are adding nice new sand too!

The Lake quite quiet today for a Sunday. But the fishermen were out, and as the morning wore on......some motor boats and a nice, pretty sail boat

Little Flags along the way.........

Where is everyone? Hummmmm I hear some music coming from........

Oh yes, the Harveys Methodist Church ......( Oh boy, Summering wasn't in church)

New sand at the Lake

Leaving through Wilkes Barre ( is it Bare, Barry, or Beareee...Oh lets not get started)..........

It was a beautiful day.......we had lunch in Dallas at Dinos ( after smelling the Grotto Pizza in the air...Sum needed pizza).....

Next time I promise to do a more artistic round of pictures.......
I might have to get a different driver

Wow, I'm impressed...I think that is the most attractive townhouse community I've ever seen...and so nice that they do the landscaping to complete the picture...definitely the builders special there. If I am remembering this correctly, they will be putting stores and such within the cmmunity, right? Anyone know what is going to be there? Looks good!

Well we just happened upon the builder and his wife..........she is so very sweet and helpful. Yes, the stores will be coming along........but right now they are doing the other townhomes. I invited her to come and post on CD..( explained no realtor advertizing though)........You know its just nice to pass along some great information. I didn't want to mention pricing as I don't want to go " out of bounds" here.........But they are exactly that...the nicest townhomes I ever saw too.( Well the Bear Trap in DE was nice too, but the "coloring "here of the homes ,and the steel work makes them pop) They do have a Master on the first floor of all the townhomes.
The one type has all the rooms on one level, with no garage........but......very nicely done also.
It is two families that are working together on this. It seems that they have done some commercial before and Jody did the design work!
The silo......next to the older barn and farm house that are standing and in good shape..........that silo........is the water tank! Now how clever is that?
I was in the three bedroom corner unit, but that office upstairs( so 4)............it could be more then that also ( IMO)
The landscaping as they go along.........Wow..........at our daughters new home in Forks, we had MUD for two years. The shoes were full. This Yalick has it right in that dept. too!
We think she said they will break ground on the shoppes in Aug.......
Someone can have a shop and then own also the upstairs two bedroom condos.
That will really be nice.
So with all the sidewalks one can just meander on over for a thing or two........
They have a site one can go look at ......just google that with the name.
Its exactly what your thinking...........LOL
What a wonderful asset......A cute note the Yalick Sisters ae responsible for the road names on the site.

Those are much nicer than the Glenmaura townhomes- at least on the exterior.

And it's good to see denser developments instead of a new subdivision.

Yalick Farms is exactly what the Back Mountain needs---SMART GROWTH. That part of the county is experiencing a massive building boom, but sadly most of the communities are just sprawling McMansionvilles with no sense of aesthetic proportion. It's especially nice that for all intents and purposes Yalick Farms will be a walkable community. Those "shoppes" will be several dozen to be exact, and if the right retail/hospitality mix evolves one could feasibly walk to a nail salon, a bakery, an art gallery, a bank, etc. I just hope they don't destroy it by selling out to Wal-Mart for an outparcel, which I also heard was in the plans. Ideally I'd like to see all of these yuppies flooding in to help revitalize Wilkes-Barre, but we all know that will never happen.

They restored that old barn and farm house to create the feeling of tradition. That water tower is something to see....one would not know it is not the silo......A special design indeed. Because it is in the corner of the barn area, it is so silo looking its a wonder! ........
They will take care of the yard, plowing, pool and the like........so no work involved for the buyer...come home and relax.
Dues will be 175 per month, to cover that.........and if any repairs are needed in time that should be a built up fund by then to take care of it.
I wish I got a pool picture.....but flyman there......just took off as usual......LOL
Next time maybe?
It is smart growth........Wondering where the pool of buyers will come from, as they are not the usual " deal" in the area. They are costly.........but, worth every dime.

Among people say, 30 and under it is becoming VERY popular to own your own place and for it to be in a high density area. We have several clients working on residential over commercial buildings to tap into this market.

I think its just another cultural shift fueled by fuel prices and other aspects of our society. Many people enjoy everything within walking distance. There are some people that want to live close to their favorite club scene so they don't have to pay for cabs. Others prefer their neighbors to be close for a feeling of security.

personally I prefer my neighbors not attached and I would just like a nice little corner bar near my house, trying to set up a designated driver is a pain!

So is Summering considering a move to the back mountain? Or just checking it out for curiosities sake?
