Landscape in backyard almost complete
After a long construction process and a few years of not having the backyard complete. We almost are finished. A few trees, grasses, some more stonework and maybe a pergola and we will have it finished.
Take a look...

Nice photos! Your backyard looks absolutely lovely! Now all you need to do is take a visit to Lowe's to see me and to purchase the nice futon swing we have on sale for $88 for your new oasis.

It looks great!!
I'm always jealous of anyone who has stonework in their yard!! Down here the only "stone" we have is called "cap rock" & is fossilized mud!!! We also have "coquina" which is fossilized coral, but extremenly expensive as is the real rock that's imported from up north!! Plus with us having such sandy soil, all rock "sinks" over time....
With landscaping, the good thing is it gets better with time as everything grows!! Make sure to take the time to enjoy it!!!

Thanks, my wife and I did all of the work ourselves. We have family and friends that own large tracks of land with plenty of stone to pick. We paid for the flat patio stone to walk on and we mixed the concrete bag by bag.
We still need to complete allot of the work, put in some shade trees, clean up some of the other beds... all should be compete this summer.
Total cost with plants, mulch, stone and concrete was about $400.00.
allot of work though. And trial and error on the laying the stone.

LOL!!! OMG!!! The nurseries here sell rock from up north & it's 30-95 cents A POUND!!!!!
If you've got all that rock & if you could drive a tractor-trailer down to South Florida you'ld be a millionaire!!! (well...with the price of gas maybe not... )

yeah, two yards of mulch (it needs another yard to lay it thicker) 28.00 per yard. The pallet of cut stone was 150.00 delivered. The water basin for the gold fish was 30... some, the concrete we have in it so far was about 130.00. and the plants were around 50.00
So in about 400.00. Now that does not include the full concrete patio near the house or the deck.

When I moved into my house here, there was nothing in the yard except 2 trees (to meet C.O. requirements) & lawn. Over the course of 7 years, I got rid of every inch of grass & made the whole property into a rain forest (hence the screenname... ) with 3 tiki huts, 8 water features, a grotto & concrete pathways.
I was a landscape designer so I got all my materials & plants at cost & it STILL ran me over $100,000.00 to date for it all!! I have a plaque in the tiki bar that says "Paradise Ain't Cheap" & I think I should have it tattooed on my butt!!!

that is allot of money to spend.. but I suppose you live outside of your home, where we spend most of our time inside.
Our home is 7 years old, 2500 sq ft, 2.5 acres. 5 bedroom (if you loose the office) 2 bath.
We did a great portion of work ourselves and have the mortgage at a very reasonable 160k.
I think we will hold on to it for awhile since I could not duplicate it for under 270k.
