Hi,
I'm looking for a place to stay in the Poconos (I don't care if it's a hotel or bed and breakfast) that's centrally located. I won't have a car when I'm there and want to be near to outdoor activities such as rafting, hiking, horseback riding, sailing, and swimming as well as nighttime activities such as clubs, bars, any brewpubs there might be (I'm a sucker for microbreweries), or any theaters that might have fun shows. I don't mind short cab or shuttle rides if such things are available there. Obviously cheaper is better.
Thanks!

Centrally located isn't really meaningful without a car. Consider staying at a resort like Great Wolf Lodge which has an indoor waterpark. They may have shuttle service to nearby attractions but you'll need to ask them.

If you stay in a Stroudsburg hotel you will be in a little city, but to visit Great Wolf or Camelback or the Mt Airy Casino you will need to take a taxi most likely.

Barley Creek is a great microbrewery with decent food.

Good luck and have fun!

Great Wolf Lodge is way too expensive for me, and also looks too heavily geared toward children. I'm also not really interested in a casino. I just want something affordable that's proximal to outdoor activities, restaurants, and nightlife, and by proximal I mean a short cab ride. Is there anything like that in the Stroudsburg area you mentioned? Could you recommend any specific places?
Thank you!

What about Shawnee Inn? Anywhere you stay you will need a car.
