Looking for Volunteer/Community Service Activities (Dunmore, Dunbar: homes, camping, live in)

I am participating in a volunteer hour competition. Does anyone have any ideas about a good program that I could help out with?

I would LOVE to do Big Brothers/Big Sisters but I am moving in Jan so that kinda puts the kibosh on that.

I live in Dunmore and would prefer not driving too far if at all possible.

Background checks wont be a problem. Manual labor is fine.

Any help would be appreciated!

How about something temporary? Not sure where Dunbar is : ) But there's a free camp in Hardwick Twp., Northwest NJ for kids with cancer and they are always looking for volunteers. It's call Happiness is Camping - free camp for kids with cancer" in Hardwick NJ

You could always contact Serving Seniors in our area, they are always looking for help at nursing homes, senior centers, etc. You could also contact a local nursing home near you to be sure you are close to Dunmore. Local churches are also usually looking for help from volunteers for many different needs. I am sure that you will be able to find a few opportunities to participate in.
