Default Sorry I haven't been participating...

I would like to apologize for my absence of late. I have been going through some horrible issues in my life and it consumes a lot of my time. My hubby recently found out that he needs a kidney and pancreas transplant. It came about so fast and is already on dialysis. Tonight will be his second session. I am just heartbroken over this. Mark is only 38 years old and this was a result from being a diabetic. Then to top it off, he was let go of his job a few weeks ago because of his eye problems and we weren't sure if they would let him back on my insurance but luckily they did. They will be starting the testing for kidney donors in August and we are the same blood type so hopefully our tissue will match. Wish us luck. I will try to check in while at work because that is usually when I do, but when I have time, I am usually looking up info on dialysis and transplants. You may even recieve an e-mail soon because there is one that will be going around asking for donations and prayers. One of our friends was supposed to have it done already but hasn't. If anyone would like me to send it to them you can e-mail me off line. Please keep him in your prayers. We are wishing for a donor quickly because the longer one is on dialysis, the less the kidney lasts. Please say a special prayer for him tonight. God bless.
Cheryl

ashley, I'm so sorry you find yourself in such a difficult situation. Try to take baby steps through the next few weeks. I sincerely hope things take a positive direction for both of you very soon.

Ashley - Prayers and positive thoughts are coming your way. It's hard enough to deal with the types of changes that you're going through, and even harder when you're young I think, because these are so unexpected. I can tell you from personal experience - prayers will help, and you need to remember to take care of yourself as well as your husband so that you keep up your strenngth too. Please know we are all pulling for you.

Ditto...thoughts and prayers coming your way. We have a good friend who's mother went through the same thing...needless to say it is not easy. She ended up down in Maryland for her procedures and her husband ended up being able to donate a kidney.
