Default Wallenpaupack Area folks...

IF you wanted to move into the Wallenpaupack Area School District,
which development would be your first choice and why? Are you happy with the one you chose and why?

We have a vacation home in WLE and I love it there. While its just a vacation home for now, the more we go there, the less we like coming back to Long island. We did want to buy in a good school district just in case we decided to move full time

It really depends on what kinds of ammenities you're hoping for, if any. And if you have kids, that's a biggie. Where we are there are no other kids and it's hard at times. Of course we moved here way before kids so it wasnt factored in unfortunately.

If I were moving again around here, I'd be out of a development. There are a handful of beautiful private roads with much land to spare and no one breathing down your neck.

Same with me...I'd avoid a community. If you want a place to go on vacation, with pools and tennis and all that, then the communities are great...but if you're building a life, and want permanence and year round neighbors...I'd stay out of the communities.

I moved to Wallenpaupack Two years ago. I also decided not to live in a community. We figured with promiseland so close we really didn't need the amentis. If you have any questions PM me

we like the community thing. while on one hand those rules are somewhat restrictive the good news is i dont have to worry about my neighbor opening a car repair garage next door to me, or painting his house red etc. with rules in place to help improve the quality of life i find it soooooo much better then when we had our own residence just plunked down on a street somewhere....

I think it really depends on what amenities you are looking for. We dont have alot and like it that way. If we moved we would most likely not go into another community as we want more land but with that said the only community we would ever consider is Hidden Lake Estates. Good luck.

While communities and their ammenties can be great, it also can be insanley annoying to live in one. Dues go up every single year, and some communties even have "cliques" and not always too outgoing to new neighbors.... (which is so strange because you would think that nonsense like that would have been left in high school)Other than that though, having pools and tennis courts can be fantastic if you like using them. I know many people in Wallenpaupack School district and they can't say enough good things about the district.

Mast hope seems to be getting much nicer lately. You have skiing all winter, swimming either in a lake or a pool, horseback riding, and several more great things for people of all ages. Fawn lake is also nice with pools and lakes and it seems to have a lot of family type get togethers all year long. They have an indoor pool as well. If you like golfing woodloch springs is an upscale community, The springs have a great spa, indoor pool, gym, and of course golf. The areas I am talking about are all in Pike county, it is a very beautiful, low crime area. It is in Wallenpaupack school district. I think I would go online and check out the developments sites, You would probably get a better idea of what will suit your needs. There is also tig wig, woodledge, and a lot of newer developments in the Lackawaxen, Rowland, Greeley and parts of Hawley area, But I don't really know the names of them. If you want to actually live in a lake wallenpaupack community Laurel lane development is really nice, Lake wallepaupack estates in Greentown/ Ledgedale are is also nice. (I know of a really great cape cod in wonderful shape for sale in LWE) They have an indoor pool and lake rights. Not too fond of Indian rocks, but you might like it. I hope you find what you are looking for.
