I would add that we need more than one third party. I would reccomend we have many political parties.

The two parties are fine, we need to restore both parties.

it dosnt matter who we have, nothing ever changes nor can it. politicians merely repeat what they think will get them votes and then do as they think they see fit. its such crap all this political garbage we have to listen to for a presidential election. you can put a chimp in the white house and get similiar results. politics bores me to no end

the 2 parties are fine? There's probably nothing more corrupt than both the D and R parties right now. They're more alike than they are different....they probably both laugh at people for being so "devoted" to one party or another. Its amazing (and scary) to see how some people are devoted to one political party or another, and how they honestly believe that one or the other is good while the other is bad. The people around here who blindly pull the straight-party lever for the D's, no matter who is running, is downright pathetic. Adolf Hitler could run on the democratic ticket and get elected in NEPA.
I stay registered as an independent, I can't align myself with one party or another. I also think that both candidates for president stink, and probably won't vote for either one. But I will get out to vote for Lou Barletta for Congress.

I am also an independent because I do not believe in the party system. The original intent of our founding fathers was for people to be elected based on how well they would represent their constituents and not a set of beliefs established by a party.

I truely hope and pray that Democrat and Republican domination of America dies off with the baby boomer generation. I hope the new up and coming generation demands more options, and parties, and starts to embrace the "REAL" change that can ONLY take place if they do start to take a serious look at a new third party, or fourth or fifth for that matter. The Democrats and Republican system is broken, they are both beholden to the big buisness, and special interest that pay for them to get elected. That is called facism, and is the exact opposite of what our founding fathers had in mind. After 200+ years of the two party system ruling the land, I think it's high time to give something new a chance. With Congress and the President's ratings at historic, record lows, it amazes me that people still come out and vote for Dems and Repubs at all. I will either sit this election out, or vote third party just as a silent protest. As long as a Democrat or Rebublican rules the land NOTHING will change. THe entire U.S. Senate is filled with millionaires and billionares, that have never lived a hard day, never had to budget a paycheck to make it stretch thoughout an entire week, never had to worry about the heating bill, or how to pay for insurance, or losing thier homes to overtaxation. How can they possibly feel the pains of the common middle class American? OUT OF SITE, OUT OF MIND. And us "sheeple" are way out of site from the hill top mansions where these elitist reside. They have thier chauffers pump the gas, and they never even see the bill... after all us taxpaying slaves take care of that for them.

Gridlock is a byproduct of (1) our winner-takes-all voting system that creates *only* two parties no matter what the interest is in additional parties; and (2) our separate executive and legislative branches. No other western government has this feature, and it's been disastrous for getting things done. Let's move to a parliamentary system.

I would not want a parliamentary system. I love our country and want to make our democratic system work, not completely change it.

To change to a parlimentary system the Constitution would have to be significantly jobbed. That just ain't gonna happen.
That said, a parliamentary system is a better system, IMHO.
