Default Pennsylvania 500 Weekend -Get ready Go!

Well, you could just about feel it in the air. Its time again for another big race at the Pocono Racetrack.

Look to your local papers for traffic patterns which will cause possible delays in some of our areas.

Down in Easton, going to the movies, I saw the race car #5 on display. Wow! It has a box truck with glass sides so everyone can
look in awe as they drive along the roads of PA.
You could see all the travelers coming this way with their campers, ready to enjoy the event with their family of racing fans. Grocery stores are packed with the people who are gearing up for company, and good times.

This racetrack opened in 1968 and held its first race on the 2.5 mile track in 1971.

Most of the top drivers fly into the small Pocono Airport and its quite exciting to see them all arrive. ( not allowed in the general area to meet or greet though)

The Nascar Museum is located right near my hometown in Sciota.
ITs hours are 10AM to 6PM. Tuesday through Sunday, Closed Mondays and all major holidays.
toynascarmuseum.com Visit there and you might come across some rare finds. 18,000 pieces are stocked.

The drivers, the awesome trucks, cars, and events are in our town this weekend. Have fun! Enjoy! and watch your road conditions!

The Racers

The Racers make their engines roar
as they ready for the war.
They take off like lightning,
at a pace that's frightening.
Rubber burns
around hair-pin turns..
tempers are riled
and the crowd goes WILD!
The pavement they pound
as they go round and round
is heating up fast
and scarred from races past.
Metal grinds and bumpers kiss ~
A tire goes flat with an angry hiss!
A yellow flag reigns them in,
because if tempers prevail, none can win...
They're back on track and back to racing,
for it's the checkered flag these racers are chasing!
Drafting, passing and bumping -
the excitement is adrenaline pumping!
They're a hungry pack
who eat up the track
and put on smiles
for five hundred miles
of astonishing speeds
that meet primal needs.
Get out of their way
if you're not here to play!
Their ultimate goal is Victory Lane
it's the only thing they have on the brain!
The competion is fierce,
it's too tough to pierce...
It's one lap to go, with a flag that's white
and the racers know the checkered's in sight..
So they put the pedal
to the metal
and their passion to the test -
for in the end, only one can be best.
Some rub the wall,
others crash and stall,
but only one racer can prevail
with the other racers on his tail.
The Chase for The Cup
is what really revv's them up!!

Enjoy the race!
