I'm in bushkill, anyone know of a beer festival or Oktoberfest in the NEPA area. I'd love to attend.

The Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre hosts an annual Oktoberfest. I visited their web site and couldn't find any information about this year's event though. They are under new ownership, so hopefully the new management hasn't decided to "ebb the flow of the taps," so to speak.

Yes, Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre. Good time! Local Brewery, excellent beer. It gets very crowded though on the Brewery grounds. I think they should move the event to downtown Wilkes-Barre or Kirby Park. Maybe next year they can have it at the new River Commons along the Susquehanna River. Anyway, if you can't find info on it yet, check back in September. Thet should have some info by then. Enjoy!

Default We really need a sticky...

I noticed on the Hampton Roads, Virginia forum that they have a constant sticky note (I think that's what they call it?) with things to do this weekend. There are a lot of things going on in Northeast PA at most times of the year but you never hear of most of them. Even those listed on this thread I probably won't remember to go to two months from now.
I like the idea of these Oktoberfest's. I was just saying to my wife that we need to get out more weekends in the Fall. We took our daughter on a train ride out of Honesdale last Fall and it stopped at a festival up that way along the route. It proved to be a great day out. A lot of these little towns have things going on and I'm willing to drive; even with the price of gas you can get most places in NEPA pretty cheaply; and most of these festivals arn't that expensive and generally help support an organization or at the very least the local economy which exactly what we need and so this stuff should floated on here more frequently in a stable/constant thread.
Just thinking out loud.
