What happened to craigslist?!?! free adver. for realtors :-
Is it is just me, or is craigslist now just a place for free adversiting for realtors?!?!?! It is consumed with their homes for sale, instead of the listings from people, not businesses, trying to sell their home. Does this irritate anyone else? Is there anything we can do about it?

I know my son is on there constantly looking for a car and he's having quite a bit of luck finding listings in our area. I can't speak to the real estate section, though.

Craigslist has really gone downhill in the past two years, and yes, you are correct -- it has become monopolized by businesses. And not just in the real estate section -- in most sections this is the case.
I tried writing them FOUR times with no response. |

Actually except for the advertisting I really like craigslist i have been able to get rid of a bunch of stuff and have been looking at cars also.
We also were able to get my daughter hamsters from there

I have found CL to be wonderful. I sold my own home on there in 2006. I have put up ads for babysitting and have had a good response. I have put that under the childcare section in the Scranton area section. I think it all depends on how you post your ad also. You have to keep on top of it too.

I had many responses when we were looking for someone to take over my daughters lease on an apartment.
I'm going to give the house selling a try!!

Anyway...I thought I'd give Craigs List a try on L.I.....there were 250 homes listed TODAY ALONE. So...I'm not holding out much hope for that!
