In Lykens, the redovelopment organization is trying to sell the old Lykens Hotel as a great opportunity for companies to make offices, apertments, hotel suites, etc. LoopNet - Former Lykens Hotel, Mid/High-Rise, 600 Main Street, Lykens, PA I highly doubt any intelegent doveloper would consiter this project. It would be great for something like that in Lykens but it would take a miracle to make it work economically.
But yea, Tower City is awful. There aren't many architectuarlly interesting/beautiful builds either like the many other small coal towns in the region.

How about the Heggins and Valley View (Tri Valley) area? I am not sure what to expect for that area in Schuylkill County. The scenery is beautiful around there and seems like a nice place to live, but economically speaking its state is poor.
