I don't see them as a positve as much as a liability to the SPD and the city itself.

Like I said...any deterrent is positive..being the eyes and ears of law enforcement...it has and does work..the only thing criminals are sorry
about is when they get caught...they hate when communities work together
and watch out for each other...I just did 20 years of law enforcement
I know how this system works....

I've never felt unsafe in Scranton...maybe in certain sections I would feel unsafe (I wouldn't walk down Capouse Ave or Cedar Ave at night), but in West Side, I've never felt unsafe, even walking alone at night. Crime happens everywhere.
I've only been robbed once in my life, and it was in Jermyn, not Scranton. And the Barney Fife police up there couldn't be bothered to do anything about it.

Looking at the crime stats, there's less to worry about in Scranton than most other cities. Take a stroll through Reading and then say that Scranton is an unsafe hellhole...
I agree with you that Doherty is a lousy excuse for a mayor....but it almost seems that you get happy when you have bad news to announce about Scranton. I don't understand why you would root for the city to fail.

Because that is what it takes to get people to actually pay attention and see what is going on in the city.

Happy to see such a positive attitude about the destruction of a city - no wonder you want to stay. Our prayer circle will continue to pray for Scranton's self-destruction so that your prays are answered.

Sometimes someone or something has to fall flat on its face in order to realize that it has a problem.
Obviously the sheeple have continued to vote in the same apathetic manner that they have always voted and it is getting us no where so if the city needs to fall on its face in order to wake the sheeple up then so be it. I'll be here to pick up the pieces and help rebuild it.
I have been here to pick up the pieces in my neighborhood several times and our neighborhood as grown stronger and has become more unified.
In spite of the cheerleading and prayer circles whats being done in Scranton is obviously not working so maybe Scranton needs to have its ass handed to it so that it can come back stronger and better then it was before.

Scranton has to hit absolute rock bottom, then it can have a hope of re-building itself stronger.
