As for unions, many of them like to bite the hand that feeds them.

Well said.. I could not agree with you more. IF the people without money would work harder they would have money as well. It is simple, work two jobs. I don't care if one is at McDonalds for 5 hours, and you work another place for 3. Heck work 10 hours a day... my husband does. He did not always have a great job. Through sacrificing -we are at a wonderful place in our lives. Do we deserve it.. darn right we do.

I have a theory on the seeming increase in poverty.
Truth is .. jobs have been moving into NEPA.
However ... so are prisons and drug rehab centers. .. it is a fairly big business.
Prisoners have families ...
If they are on assistance .. it is easier to move near the prison over trying to get there to visit from the cities the prisoners come from.
There are buses in the area that take the families to the prison to visit.
When the prisoner or rehab patient is released (or leaves a program) they all stay in NEPA.
It is merely a shifting of the population.

Wow. Just wow. First of all, do you realize how much daycare costs? Do you realize that sometimes people are OVER qualified for jobs like McDonald's and can't get hired there? Do you realize that one is shortchanging their family quality by working so many hours?
And I'm sorry....the jobs where you do work the hardest are usually the ones that are paid the least.
Your post is so riddled with inaccuracies and right wing propaganda BS, I wonder if this isn't Rush Limbaugh posting here.

So, working hard to get ahead in life and support a family, as opposed to milking the government gravy train, is "right wing propaganda" in your book?

If you want your family to just get by, by all means , have no ambition, If you want to provide for your family , you do what you have to do..
and, whats wrong with hard work? its an honest living, and nothing to be looked down on
if your hurting for work and need to take a less than desireable job to get by, so be it, dont pad the application, and you wont be overqualified..
working and shortchanging?? sorry kids but you need braces, but instead of me working toward that, I would rather sit home with you..you need new school clothes ? wear those small ones
In the End Magritte, there is only so much income, if your needs exceed that you have two choices ,provide, or do without.

Because there's no fat liberals right? What's Rosie O' Donnell's excuse? Rosie would probably kill someone before she'd share her twinkies!

No, the fallacy of working hard = making a decent amount of money is a product of right wing propaganda.

Where did I say anything about hard work somehow being bad? I didn't. I said that hard work is not rewarded as it should be in this country.
Working 40-50 hrs per week is one thing.. Working 60+ is quite another.
Money isn't everything.
