Question Masthope/WLE/Hideout

We spent today with a realtor looking all through Masthope. Out of nine homes that we saw, we are considering three of them. Next visit to the area is Friday 9/5 and we are going to concentrate on WLE and the Hideout.

My questions to all of you "in the know" - where would we (my husband, myself and 20 year old son) be able to secure employment if we chose Masthope - would we head towards Milford? When we look at WLE and the Hideout - would Dickson City and Scranton have decent employment opportunities?

And what about the school districts for the areas - Wallenpaupack SD vs. Western Wayne SD. What are the pros and cons of each?

Thanks so much,
Lisa

I have lived in The Hideout for almost 15 years. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about The Hideout. Employment...I think it is tough all over...it would depend on what your field of work is in also. As far as the school districts, most would say that WLE has an excellent reputation and better than Western Wayne. I still think Western Wayne is a good school and they are constantly making improvements. They have a great staff of teachers and administrators. The Hideout has much more to offer than WLE also.

My advice is to secure employment before moving. There are not an abundance of jobs in this area and the pay scales are low. Many have their own businesses and most commute to NY and NJ for employment. I would opt for Wallenpaupack school district that is is purely a personal opinion. I know many people that are happy with Western Wayne. It pays to look at the forum and even higher dividends in coming out here talking to people and you will get a feel for what is the "right fit" for you and your family. Milford is an opiton if you need to commute to NY - you have the Delaware Valley School District. Come up here at different times and on different days - get the "real" picture for yourself and talk to many people as you can. Not just the people in the communities but people in the outlying areas, businesses, etc.
