I do not mean any specific color or ethnic background when I speak of "those' people. I mean the ghetto people from the Bronx sewers. They come in a large variety of colors and languages. I mean those type of people. And PCP is filled with them.
The ones that won't get out of he road when you are trying to drive. The ones that blast music so loud from their vehicles it makes your house vibrate. The bully attitude and sense of entitlement to get in your personal space and dare you to say a word. on and on and on.....
Sorry, I never felt safe shopping anywhere near there. or even walking my dogs in broad daylight.
I could write about 3 pages of my negative experiences in and around PCP. Not a pretty picture.

I'd try to rent in Lake Naomi, Emerald Lakes.........even Towamensing Trails.
Maybe Indian Lake..........But, I would not stay there over my lease time, when its up I would leave.
I think some people on the outskirts of the PCP feel safer then the many who are in the mist of everything. That is my take on what I read about the area anyhow.

well i am happy to say, i have no clue what all the negativity is about. i am here now about 3 weeks, love it, no problems at all. there is a race mixture, and maybe this is a problem for a lot of people, but not me and my family. the people around me, mostly black & white, are very nice and everyone sort of keeps to themselves. i was born and raised in nyc, where there is all different people with different ethnic backrounds. i am used to this, i think it's the people who are racist by saying "those people" that had a problem with this. also, you are going to get good and bad no matter where you go, and there's no way you can run from it. this is the way of the world and you have to adjust to your surroundings. be aware of your surroundings. i walk in the day with my grandson and bring him on the slides and swings, theres kids there playing basketball, etc. never got bothered, no problems, so i really feel that the ones with all the negativity are the ones that can't handle different ethnic backrounds. pcp is not as bad as what people think, i mean, at least not the section i am in and we are happy so far. is it somehwere i would want to stay for the rest of my life, who knows, it's too early to tell, but so far, so good.............:-)

hello jetterific,
I recently put down a deposit to start building a home in PCP. Im hearing alot of negative things about it should I back out now while i have a chance and stay in NYC until i find somethig affordable. I also have a 14 year old son who has been very sheltered in nyc private schools. He is not a street kid. Stays at home playing video games I thought that moving to the Poconos would be good for him, That I wouldn't have to worry about him being hurt in NYC. Did I make the wrong decision?

I would find somewhere else in the Poconos to move. I know people who have had bad experiences there. I can't speak about PCP personally, because I have never lived there. If I was moving to the Poconos, I certainly wouldn't move to PCP. Just giving you a heads up.

3 weeks? What can 3 weeks tell you? and for your info I am not a racist. I have friends of all ethnic back grounds and take every person as an individual. I think I already explained what I meant by "those type of people"- not color but class!
I hope your experience there continues to be good. I really do. but 3 weeks is a short amount of time. I loved it at 3 weeks there too. LOL All the houses near me were empty-foreclosures-and it was so peaceful. Not so good for property values, though. However, the element that has moved into those houses is far worse than foreclosures!
I still think that this thread is important to help people that have no idea what PCP is and hopefully save them from getting trapped in hell.

pcp reminds me of when i have my police scanner on in nyc. you begin to hear what really goes on in your neighborhood. although you may not see whats happening around you personally its still going on. on the surface all looks just fine to you if it wasnt for the scanner revealing the real problems in your neighborhood. .. you can close your eyes to the news and pretend because nothing happened to you its just fine ........ i have never been to pcp, but based on news i read in the newspapers and tv i have no desire to go to pcp and i certainly wouldnt want to live there. yes its a big place but so is hemlock farms and the hideout and you dont hear a fraction of the issues pcp has.
