Oh, and I hate to break it to you, but if you were flooded twice, I'd have to call that flood zone....

Making fun of people who have had their homes and lived ruined...yep, that puts you in the ranks of the Doherty elitists. You must be angling for a job with the administration.

If you think Scranton flooding is funny, you must have been in stitches over Hurricane Katrina. The tsunamis must have had you busting a gut.

After you posting pictures of sheep under water, its too bad your home doesn't flood. What goes around, comes around. Wait, here comes the mayor, get ready to bow down and kiss the ring, or whatever else he makes you do when you bow down.

I could care less what you think........Just so everyone knows where the anger comes from....

The city consolidated different OECD fund accounts in 2007 and took $280,000 from the riverbanks and streams account and used $250,000 it to give to Alexanders Salon for an OECD loan.

So while we have had no RIVERBANK REPAIRS IN THE LAST 4 YEARS THERE WAS AT LEAST $280,000 IN THE ACCOUNT FOR RIVERBANK MAINTENANCE ALL THE WHILE.

Now which is better a use of gov't monies from an account that is named RIVERBANKS AND STREAMS, 1. An already successful hair salon and spa or 2. a riverbank to protect the residenst in your city?

Dan, I understand what you're saying. Your neighborhood was never flood prone until 2004. It was never a flood zone. It's not like New Orleans which is prone to flooding and has been for years. This is where tax money should go, for something that is needed to prevent future destruction due to mother nature. I don't find flooding or Dan funny on this one. It just doesn't evoke laughter from me.

Now come on Paul. It may seem like I bow down and kiss Dan's ass, but I happen to believe what he says is true. Listen, I have no vested interest in Dan, I just believe he's genuine when it comes to his causes for his neighborhood and fights against the city. I know you're just busting me and the visual is kind of funny. But how did this thread veer off into the topic of flooding in Dan's neighborhood? I thought it was originally about a woman's body being found here in the city. Oh well, you gotta love how we stay on topic here at CD.

Unfortunately if our new moderator isn't "one of the crew" and is instead superimposed upon us from a land far, far away (like Cary, NC!), then we might be getting slapped around much, much more frequently for straying off-topic.

My one theology professor here at King's said his home in Green Ridge was just broken into on Friday evening but nothing appeared to have been taken. Another neighbor's home was broken into and had items reported stolen. Green Ridge is one of the most affluent parts of Scranton, so this comes as a concern to me---crime is spreading throughout the entire city.

Although its conceivable that thieves would target a home in Green Ridge before a less-ritzy part of town. Probably more valuable stuff to steal in Green Ridge than in South Side.
