They're all the same and act in the best interest of their contributors and not the taxpayers. Cordaro, Munchak, & Washo were no different from O'Brien, Washo & Munchak its just a matter of who is getting their attention and who isn't. Nothing good ever really comes from any of them.
Coradro worked to erase Corcoran's legacy and O'Brien will work to erase his and when its all said and done they will have all made a fortune from it and we all get to pay for it.
Tiffany Drive and Glenmaura are exactly were I want to see politicians living on my tax dollars.
I wonder how many tax paying residents in Lackawanna County are truely worried about how they are going to afford their heating bill this winter.......

Judging by the number of people at Lowe's who whip out their credit cards left and right for luxury purchases during this so-called "recession," I'd have to say that very few are truly "struggling."

I remember gettiung charged up when I spoke to Corey about his running. I know the Washo's and can honestly say he is a good guy at least onthe surface. However, adn thats a big however, since they have taken office it is a different story. They have done many f the same things the last admin did. Liz Randol is the only positive force i see. She is awesome and I will argue for her until the cow come home.
In Corey and Bob defence of lving where they live, they are both successful in their own right from other things in their private lives. Plus the tiffany lane house and Glenmaura houses are both under 500k and in todays day in age, that is not quite that exclusive.

I agree Paul. I was at Cruefest last week and could not believe how many people were buying beers for $6 a bottle. Some had one in both hands. The concession stands had lines that went on it seems like for a mile, with people plopping down $35 for a shirt and overpaying for basically fast food. I don't know, they say the economy is bad, but I don't see it. People seem to be driving as much as ever on the interstates and in the city. Restaurants are still packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Like you said, I still see people using credit cards a lot. Is everyone living on credit and spending way beyond their means? I know prices are going up, but who is the economy really affecting? I think it may be a myth.

You're going to have traffic no matter where you put the stadium, it just has to happen when you have that many cars trying to get to the same place at the same time. Pinebrook would offer entrances from several points off of Mulberry and also Greenridge St. on the other side. It would be nice to link it in with the riverfront project as well. The best thing about Pinebrook is that with the eventual growth of the medical college, and a big chunk of property being used by a new stadium, the downtown will essentially be expanded all the way to Greenridge St. When a stadium is located in a downtown area, you get a lot of benefits, one of the greatest being that it's free advertisement; people are aware that something is going on, and you greatly increase the amount of walk-ups. I also really agree with the parking garage idea, it's about the only way to cram all those cars into a small space.

MY OPINION ON THE ECONOMY (for what it's worth)
People are loosing jobs and not finding new ones. They are hurting. People bought homes that they could not afford and now their ARMS are adjusting and they are going into foreclosure...they are hurting. Joe and Jane Shmoe who have their decent job or above avg income job are feeling a bit of a pinch at the pump and grocery store but over all are ok.....They see and hear all the hub-bub about the economy and feel like if they personify the financial freedom they have compared t the media's portrayal of all the po' folk they in turn will feel better about their own self worth.....thus buying 6 dollar beers and being ok with that.
It is all quite Fruedian, or Kafka-esque if you think about it.
Please, feed back is appreciated.

Projects such as building a stadium are not completed over night. Just because the economy is low right now does not mean that new endeavors should not be considered. By the time the logistics are worked out and the plans drawn, we may be out of the current slump and back on track. Building creates jobs, and while most office jobs will simply transfer to the new stadium from the old, any increased growth in a downtown area that is simply not viable in a remote location will spring up as well. And let's face it, fuel is not getting cheaper, so people will be more likely to find things to do that are close to home. I really don't want to hear about the ARMS; I managed to get a mortgage at a low, fixed rate, and to have zero credit card debt. I simply did my homework and lived within my means. Who wouldn't want a 250k home and a brand new car in the driveway? I'm not saying there aren't some real victims out there, but for the most part people weren't living in reality, and they just got the check. There is a remapant sense of entitlement out there, but someone has to pay the bills. Looks like it's going to be the responsible lower-middle-class tax payer again....

Just a thought here; if the ECTM does get a spot in the new terminal hub, they could potentially secure a right-of-way for the track that follows Mifflin Ave. This would not only have the possibility of connecting the trolley line to a new stadium in the Pinebrook secton, but would also tie the excursions in with the upcoming riverfront project. Running the trolley along this route would minimize any conflict with regular vehicular traffic, a concern when operating such a line in a downtown area.

Pinebrook? I'm not sure the Yanks would go for that. Heroin addicts hanging around the parking lot and having to worry about getting mugged after a game. Although it would be a way to clean up that area, I suppose.
