I always thought he was a respectful and well thought out poster. I never saw any indication of him being rude that would warrant any kind of infraction.

one of his last posts is in this thread, and seams to have upset someone. could be this, unless of course the offending post was deleted...

Sheesh. I'm gay myself and found his photo and comments to be quite tongue-in-cheek. Perhaps others are just too overly sensitive?

I think if he had been banned his profile and comments on his profile would be gone. I'm hoping he's just on sabbatical

No. When a custom user name says "Not a member," that means just what it says---this person is no longer with us. From my experience over the past 2+ years on this forum 90% of the time this is because he/she got into some hot water with the moderators and was banned. The other 10% of the time people send DMs to the moderators asking to have their accounts suspended for some reason or other.

I agree with Paul...I also am gay & I laughed my %#$ off when FP posted that pix!!

Yes, it's the typical lesbian stereotype (and I personally know 2 lesbians that ANY straight guy would drool over so it's not 100% accurate!!!) but I don't think any gay person would be that anal to make a fuss over it!!

But then again....some people.....

All I can say for certain is that FightinPhil's transgressions must have been pretty grave and unforgivable. Usually moderators will weigh a member's prior positive contributions to the forum in light of their most recent convictions in order to determine as to whether or not more severe corrective actions beyond warnings or infractions must be taken. I've been on the verge of getting banned myself several times over the past couple of years, but I think in the end I just edged out being "voted off," so to speak, because the moderators realize that I'm usually level-headed and as a human can have my temper get out of hand at times. That's what surprises me in this case. FightinPhils always presented himself very level-headedly. In the past weluvpa, CHS89, and I were at each other's throats in brou-ha-has, and all three of us were disciplined appropriately for these flaps. I know for a FACT that that image alone and the resulting offended poster were NOT the sole reason for his dismissal from our midst. It's sheerly not possible for something so trivial to result in a punishment so severe. 90% of the moderators on here are very fair and pure when it comes to their approaches to disciplinary measures. Even the 10% that are overly-aggressive in my eyes though would NEVER ban someone over something so minor. Something else was obviously at play here.
