Halloween Costumes
Where do people go for interesting and unique Halloween costumes. Since I am not able to sew this year and a little tired of the Party City...was wondering if there is hidden treasure for costumes in NEPA.
Thanks..........

Hat...I don't know of any place....I usually made my kids costumes too...but not always with a lot of sewing...some of the best ones....
I drew bones...basically the skelton...on white contac paper and stuck them onto black leggings and black turtle neck...white and black make-up and a top hat! Cute on a little blond haired girl!
Glory...the beanie baby....white sweat suit...hot glued blue and red star cut out of felt...american flag patch near heart....then I enlarged the tag over and over again....traced it onto red craft foam and attached to a head band...very cute!
Scare crow...overalls and flannel shirt purchased at Salvation Army...cut arms and legs and hot glued straw....straw hat....patches on face with make-up. Fake scarecrow on shoulder...
Grandfather clock...long box made to look like a wood box, cut-outs for arms.. with child face as the 'face' of the clock...brown tights and brown turtle neck...
And of course there is the Disney Store....are they still around elsewhere?
And don't forget E-bay!!! My favorite shopping place!!!

Costume Locator: Frazetta's Costume East Stroudsburg PA Costume Store
The best place in the Poconos that I know of is Frazettas Costumes on Cortland Street in East Stroudsburg. It is in the location of the golf shop.

Believe it or not, KMart in Matamoras had a pretty good selection when I was there last week. WalMart was pretty lame. Not much to choose from.

There was a vintage "Lily Munster" Halloween costume I saw last week on Ebay...(remember those?? they came in a cardboard box with a cellophane part on the lid to see the mask inside & you could find them at Woolworth's & other 5 & dime stores?? )
The original price sticker on it was $2.98. The bidding was up to $544.00 & still going!!!
Boy!! If I knew then what I know now!!!!

Taney's is on N. Washington ave by the county prison in Scranton and they have a huge selection of costumes and its a great shop. I haven't been there in a few years but they always had cool stuff.

I love go phillie's post. We should all go dressed as sheep. Who could play Doherty, the sheep herder?
Spencer's in the mall sometimes has cool Halloween costumes. Last time I was there I saw some interesting ones.

I believe there is a costume shop in Downtown East Stroudsburg (or at least there was when I did my photo tour).
