Retailers' Finances Closely Watched Before Holidays - Retail * US * News * Story - CNBC.com (http://www.cnbc.com/id/26954784 - broken link)

Saw this article............what are stores going to do to get people in early for shopping this year. I think the incentives are going to be huge.

What does everyone else think?

Wow, as you scroll down the list of stores grows. Some are very surprising........
I happen to love Boscovs' and Bon Tons. I would be so sad to see them disappear. Gosh........

They'll have to start cutting back the mark-up percentage. We're getting all of our goods from 5th world countries for pennies on the dollar, maybe a 300% vendor's take is a little high? I only go out on Black Friday for two things: highly discounted dockers and tools.

The only place mentioned in that article that I would be sad to see go would be Krispy Kreme....the rest could disappear and my life wouldn't be affected one bit...

I was surprised to see KK listed - too much expansion? For the longest time all I knew of KK was the location on Moosic St. I thought it was just a local thing. They could probably stand to pal-in with another company to offer more products, DD has been pretty aggressive in the past few years and no doubt they are cleaning up, but they also offer a lot more. I know Sheetz was selling KK stuff, but they masked over the logo, so I don't know what's going on.
