Elk Mountain and Octoberfest
Well, Elk mountain was beautiful. The lift and the scenery breathtaking. Would not consider it an Octoberfest - nothing German (food or entertainment to speak of). They had Penn Dixie band - dixie music and blues.........So, where do the NEPA'er go for a real Octoberfest?????
BTW, Chets Place was interesing.....population 26. Had the Alice Burger - nice place to visit.
Were we in Tunahonnk?

Nice, My home away from home!!!. You were in Uniondale while at Chets. Go to their website to read the rules of Chets and find out how to become a Chetite. When we lived at the village they wuld have a bunch of German and Bravarin things going on all October. The Elk Oktoberfest is more a Keg party with good food.

We went there on Saturday. It was amazing! We took the lift up and walked all the way down. Very nice scenery.
Shortly, before we left we went inside the lodge and they had a German band singing "Es gibt kein Bier auf Hawaii" ... . So there was a little bit of Oktoberfest feeling. They were dressed in Lederhosen as well

Well, Tunkhannock must be beautiful. I could not get over how hot it was. 81 degrees!! LOL, we probably did! Susequanna County is just beautiful - the trees and the scenery looks like something you would see out west. I love the open land!!
