Where can I get a smaller sized tub?
Getting ready to do a bathroom remodel, in a 1920's house, so nothing is 'standard.' As such, I need a tub that's an odd size, 56 inches long and a max of 28" wide (it's 28 inches wide in the middle, but the ends neck down to 26"). It's not a fiberglass unit, must be porecelin coated cast iron? I'm sure Kohler has something, but I'm not looking to break the bank or order one from Sweden. A friend suggested looking who the modular home companies deal with. Thoughts? The shower surround needs to be tile due to an oddly placed window.

It doesn't seem as though you're going to just slide anything right into that spot. Mobile home replacement tubs are 54" x 27". Since you'll be tiling, you could always build out the wall a couple of inches and make it fit.
Go to a plumbing supply, bathroom place or two and see what they can do for you. American Standard makes odd size tubs, but I'm sure that other companies, ones we've never heard of, do as well.

I was going to say the same thing. We just got everything for three bathrooms from Epsco in Honesdale. They are excellent and you can get tubs that are special order. Also try Roche Plumbing Suppy in the same area. If you are in Scranton you may want something closer. If you go to EPSCO ask for Rochelle, she knows her stuff and the plumbers are right there is you need to speak to them directly.
Good luck, Hat

That sounds like the size of my tub, which I'd like to get rid of for a larger one. You could try any type of salvage or reclaimed items place. I don't know if there are any in the NEPA area but you see on these remodeling shows on TV all the time that there are places where people take stuff from old houses, get money for them, and then they're available for other people.

So, for the record, how many of those tiles that I ordered for you from West Virginia were smashed when all was said and done?! LOL! I was actually amazed they did such a great job packaging them.

Haha, I think they are all ok, we did a quick check at home and even the one box that looked questionable, seemed to just be a problem with the box coming apart, and not broken tile. I'm pretty sure that I found the company that made the tile for Lowes, and they claim their tile is the toughest in the industry. Their price was also close to $400 for 40 sf...
I just hope my floor holds up - that's some heavy tile!

As for the tub, it seems that the smallest width they sell nowadays is 30" I might try Ikea, they seem to sell some stuff for smaller rooms...

I don't know if you're looking for the "period" look, but I found this online that's 30" in width.... so they may have one 28" or less....
