We made it through the night without losing power again. I see that there are still 5,000 customers in Monroe Co. who haven't made it back to the 'light' yet.

The deer are actin' nuts. They are running around appearing like tourists trying to find the right subway train in New York. We were chatting with friends on Saturday night, and I commented that I haven't seen a lot of dark woolybears. There are a lot of acorns this year though. Hummmm? I do think nature has a way of predicting the weather in the short-term.

I guess this was truly a freak storm. Hope it wasn't prophetic.

So. Who has the cookies baked? JG, your stuff sounds wonderful, but Florida is just too much of a drive. Could you just stop by here?

btw, thanks to you all for listening to my whining yesterday....and remember....today's just getting started.

LOL!!! Wilkes Barre has an airport ya know... We've got record-breaking cold here through tomorrow...so I think I'm gonna bake a triple-batch of Coconut Bread today!!

I'll post the recipe on the NEPA Cookin' thread for y'all if you're house-bound & feel like baking...

George, I forgot to mention that I find your attire to be glamorous! You may want to accessorise better though. I picked up one of those strapped, headlight thingies. They are reminiscent of miner's hats. Let me tell ya, I was the bomb! No one here to appreciate the fashion statement ....but I could see to use the bathroom. Came in right handy!

That's right! WB/S airport is actually very nice. It's so kind of you send food via air. What time shall we be there to pick it up?

Still no power this morning in Ledgedale, and to add insult to injury today is the second day that the Halloween vandals knocked down Mom's mailbox. They've been trying to get it for years, and they finally got it down yesterday. Neighbor fixed it, and then they whacked it again this morning. You'd think with the snow and all that it might discourage the kids (or whomever) from mischief, but not so.

Bagldot - I'm sorry to read that your mom's still without power. PPL said they hope to have everyone back online today by noon. I take it that she's somewhere near Sterling. Mailbox vandals? Yeah. Now there's some productive villagers. I can't imagine why any adult would allow a kid to be out in a car in this mess. Guess they don't give a damn about their kid's welfare. What a shame to add to the stress that's already part of this storm. Karma. It will find them.....eventually.

Thanks for the heads up, George!! I'm headin' out to try to clean the snow from the car now. I hope I can get out. I think I'll take "Wilson" with me. He's my best friend and keeps me safe. Now where did I put that soccer ball???!!!????

What a shame. Do you have neighborhood watch? I hope you catch whoever it is, press charges and have them pay restitution. As for power, we learned a long time ago, you have to have a generator and be self sufficient. We lost power many years ago up here for 4 days and we said never again.

Bag, I did not know you were in Ledgedale? How did I miss that?
