Default How much for a cord of wood?

Hello! We need to get wood this year and I'm wondering what a cord of wood costs. We didn't need any last year and the year before that we paid $140. This year the guy is saying $180 (unstacked) and I'm wondering if I should try to find someone else. We're near Blakeslee. Thanks!

180 for a full cord or a face cord ? I think that sounds about right. I only buy by the big log truck load

Thanks. It's more than I expected, but what can you do? What's the difference between full and face?

A full cord is a tightly packed amount of wood with minimum space/gaps between pieces 4 ft. by 4 ft. by 8 ft. A face cord is 4 ft. by 8 ft. by length of pieces (16-18 in. usually).
I paid $160 last week for a full cord here in SoMD. Delivered and dumped. Stacked it myself.

Sounds reasonable and within the prices I've heard, actually quite bit more that what I've heard for Maine some other northern states. Costs for anything that burns have gone up quite a bit including wood. Still not cheaper than coal and coal is easier.

That's actually illegal but I don't see the harm as long as the consumer agrees with it. You can't sell a "truckload" of wood.

Is that $180 delivered? I've seen as low as $80 per cord but that was you had to pickup. I've seen upwards of $220 for delivered so i think $180 is a decent price!

Definitely delivered. My little Corolla does a lot but not that much! And what a coincidence - the house is in Albrightsville.
